Organoid intelligence is a new concept that involves the use of a small group of human neurons capable of learning and remembering.

These neurons are part of a biocomputer, which uses the neurons’ power and memory to enable decision-making processes similar to those of artificial intelligence. To comprehend organoid intelligence, it is necessary to first comprehend what organoids are and how they are created. Organoids are simplified versions of any organ in the human body that are created by programming mature cells to transform into any cell in the body.

Organoids, on the other hand, are not simply stem cells transformed into neurons; they must be scaffolded into a 3D structure and contain both neurons and helper cells. Millions of neurons must be linked, and nutrients must reach the structure’s interior. Organoids have the potential to replace animal testing and advance our understanding of the human brain while avoiding the use of live humans.

Organoid intelligence has the potential to usher in a new era of biocomputing that is fast, powerful, and efficient. However, before these concepts can be used in the future, the definitions of intelligence, sentience, and consciousness must be explored and agreed upon.
