Performance benchmarks displayed during the event showed Grok 3 outperforming rivals in math, science, and coding tasks.
xAI unveiled Grok 3 in a live demonstration streamed on X. Grok 3 is already live on X.
xAI CEO Elon Musk said that Grok 3 is potentially the “smartest AI on Earth.”

The launch event showcased advancements positioning Grok 3 as a competitor to models like ChatGPT and DeepSeek’s R1. Grok 3 runs on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer, a system powered by over 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs and constructed in just over eight months.
The demonstration began with Grok 3 solving intricate physics problems, such as calculating an interplanetary trajectory, demonstrating improved reasoning capabilities. Unlike earlier models, Grok 3 was trained on synthetic datasets with reinforcement learning, allowing it to self-correct errors in real time – a feature Musk highlighted as a step toward reducing AI inaccuracies. This reliability, xAI claims, makes it suitable for scientific research and practical applications alike.
A key reveal was Grok 3’s planned integration with Tesla vehicles, hinted at as an upcoming feature. Musk suggested drivers could soon query the AI for traffic updates or technical explanations on the go. The event also previewed a voice interaction mode, still under refinement, aimed at enhancing user engagement. Early feedback from xAI staff praised its efficiency, with one tester noting it significantly cut research time.
Grok 3’s versatility shone in a creative exercise, designing a hybrid Tetris-Puyo Puyo game, hinting at applications beyond science. Access will initially be limited to X Premium Plus subscribers, with a premium “Super Grok” tier planned.
Grok 3’s debut marks a bold move by xAI
Performance benchmarks displayed during the event showed Grok 3 outperforming rivals in math, science, and coding tasks. Of course, independent evaluations are needed.
The evening concluded with xAI teasing a future supercomputer cluster five times more powerful than Colossus, signaling ambitious plans ahead. The launch drew significant attention on X, with analysts noting its potential to disrupt the AI landscape. While not without areas for polish – such as the voice feature – Grok 3’s debut marks a bold move by xAI to advance AI’s role in both practical and exploratory domains.
