Hear ye, hear me! The first humans to merge with machines will not be superheroes. They will probably be CEOs, scientists, and wealthy people who can afford upgrades while everyone else debates whether technology is “unnatural.”
Let me ask you a painful question then, do you think most people will be able to afford becoming more than human?

This is the way I see it progressing: initially, it will be something only rich people can afford and will be seen as a status of wealth, followed by it being gradually integrated into out schools, hospitals and common places in general and being sold to us as a necessity to fit in to the system. The prices will obviously go down and it will eventually be a means of the "elites" controlling the "lower" class. Idk if this is to sci-fi-iy or rooted in reality 😭😭
