Munich-based microagi, a robotics deployment startup founded by former Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 engineers, has raised $55 million in seed funding, the largest seed round in German history. The round was led by Hummingbird Ventures. The company does not build robots or train AI models itself; instead, its Atlas platform generates the training data that teaches existing factory and industrial robots how to perform tasks, positioning it as an infrastructure layer for the rapidly expanding robotics deployment market.

Founder and CEO Bercan Kilic, a former Red Bull aerodynamics engineer who left Formula 1 in 2023, told Business Insider that five companies are already using the platform. The funding arrives as nearly 40 million EU workers are over 55, intensifying the labor shortage pressure that makes industrial automation an urgent economic priority across the continent. The round was announced July 16, 2026.
