SWI Group has announced an €800 million institutional capital increase, adding substantial new funding to its effort to build a transatlantic digital-infrastructure and AI-compute platform.
The transaction involves new ordinary shares issued by SWICH and values the company at about €6.1 billion after the financing. SWI says the deal lifts the equity it has raised since March 2026 to more than €1 billion.
The financing arrives as computing infrastructure becomes one of the central constraints on AI development. Recent analysis has argued that AI progress is increasingly determined by chips, electrical grids and server capacity. Researchers and companies are even examining whether future data centers could be moved into space, while radically different approaches such as biological computing are being tested inside data-center environments.
SWI says the new capital will accelerate expansion of its data-center, power and compute assets across Europe and the United States. Its broader strategy includes converting infrastructure associated with Genesis Digital Assets from cryptocurrency mining toward AI workloads. CoinDesk
The announcement establishes funding and expansion plans; it does not by itself demonstrate completed new AI capacity.
