I am so in love with this podcast. I didn’t know Charles was into the classics. One thing I don’t buy is the mantra he repeatedly underlines: change yourself, and the world will be better. It’s good advice for personal growth in situations where the external world, at least, doesn’t crush individuals. But take the case of a young teenager in war-torn Africa or Ukraine and tell them that, please. Ahh, it doesn’t work, so this mantra has its limits and by now it’s a cliché. Let’s bring better and more holistic advice than “change yourself” when we discuss the world.

Charles has talked more than once about how the birth of the blockchain industry, even in its early days, allowed people to start dreaming and envisioning a better future. Indeed, it still provides hope and inspiration to people from all walks of life around the globe. Why not apply this same logic more generally? Whenever there is someone close to you who is feeling down or talking about tomorrow with a cynical tone, show them a star in the sky—a glimpse of the desirable future that both of you want to live in—and exchange a few words about what should be done to get there. Maybe it is the little push she needs. And Mihaela, I love the theme of the podcast and I am looking forward to future episodes. Thank you!
