Mindplex is a unique science and technology magazine and media ecosystem. Mostly focused on artificial intelligence (AI), Mindplex covers other sci/tech areas as well, including physics and fundamental science, space, electronics, computer science, biotechnology, life extension, and neurotechnology. We have a special interest in the societal and cultural implications and intersections of today’s science and technology. Important intersections of technology and society have included the internet itself and now include the crypto economy and the AI revolution.

Mindplex is part of the SingularityNET ecosystem created by Ben Goertzel. Ken Goffman (the legendary R.U. Sirius or Mondo 2000 fame), Giulio Prisco,  Hruy Tsegaye, and David Wood regularly contribute to Mindplex. They are joined by occasional contributors including Ben Goertzel himself, other well known contributors (e.g. Jamais Cascio, Ed Lantz, Nell Watson), and less known contributors.

We are now opening Mindplex to new contributors. Successful applicants will join a community of content creators serving enthusiastic readers passionate for science, technology, the future, and the cosmos. No matter their credentials or how outlandish their ideas,  the voice of Mindplex contributors will be heard by other science and technology enthusiasts.

Contributing to Mindplex is a smart way to get started as a science and technology communicator, and build an audience. Unfortunately, at this moment we are unable to pay new contributors. This will change (see below) and the contributors who post outstanding content will be eligible for retroactive compensation. In the meantime, we do our best to aggressively promote the work of our contributors.

We are acutely aware that writing good content takes a lot of work and a lot of time, and this can deter new contributors. To reduce this barrier and encourage contributors, we are relaxing our previously stated editorial policy of only publishing unique content on Mindplex. Subject to editorial approval, contributors will be able to republish on Mindplex content that they had previously published on a personal website or other media that allows republication. Contributors will also be able to republish their Mindplex content elsewhere, but not earlier than one week after publication on Mindplex.

So how does it work?

First, please create a user account on Mindplex. Then follow the instructions and use the form on this page to submit content (text, audio, or video). An editor will contact you soon. Alternatively, feel free to contact an editor directly and define a workflow with them. The current editors are Giulio Prisco, Conor O’Higgins, and Ben Goertzel. They can be reached at [email protected].

First and most importantly, we will carefully read any and all of your content submissions. Work from new contributors will often be published in the “Community” or “Mindbytes” sections by default. Even better, editors may choose to promote outstanding work to the “Magazine” or “News” sections. At some point, you may also be given access to the Mindplex website backend to post your draft content directly.

See this page for a list of topics that we are especially interested in. Please note that, contrary to many other publications, we don’t shy away from controversial topics like consciousness studies, cultural resistance, parapsychology, or strange phenomena going beyond conventional science. So please feel free to send us outlandish or politically incorrect content, provided it is well-written, informative, original, and above all interesting.

Feel free to use AI assistance, but please check and double-check for errors (there are always some) and edit to add the personal human touch that our audience really wants.

Interaction with the audience is a key part of the engagement that we expect from contributors. Comments and social media threads enhance both the value, visibility, and popularity of Mindplex content. We expect contributors to participate in the exchanges generated by their work. So please join our social media channels, including our new X Community.

The Mindplex website will be updated to reflect the editorial policy and implementation details outlined above. If at the time you are reading this there is a conflict between this document and the rest of the Mindplex website, this document prevails.

And what’s in it for me?

Contributing to Mindplex is a smart way to get started as a science and technology communicator, and build an audience. As a Mindplex contributor, you’ll be able to build a solid portfolio with the assistance of our editors.

But we know that you want to hear about compensation.

Mindplex is more than conventional media: we strive to create a successful prototype of a new way of producing and consuming content, adapted to today’s global economy and society. Mindplex wants to be a network media project with powerful cybernetics between creators, editors, and consumers and built-in mechanisms to compensate creators.

At this moment, our reputation token MPXR is onchain: active and working. Contributors earn MPXR with good content and interaction. The MPXR token is not tradeable, because reputation must be earned, not bought.

Things will begin to become really interesting with the launch of our utility token MPX. This will be  a tradeable token listed on selected crypto exchanges. We are not committing to a specific launch date for MPX, but we are doing our best to make it happen in 2026.

MPX will allow readers to reward creators directly with tips or paid content production requests. Also, contributors will be eligible for MPX rewards based on the MPXR generated by their content. The more MPXR a contributor has, the more MPX they ywill be able to earn and trade. As the exchange value of MPX goes up, and up it will go, the earning potential of accrued MPXR will go up as well. A simulation of potential MPX and USD earnings is given here. The potential earnings can make a difference, especially (but not only) in regions of the world where the cost of living is low.

A personal note from our Senior Editor, Giulio Prisco

“I look forward to hearing from you! If you are interested, please get in touch with me or other editors, and let’s work together”.
