A silicon photonic chip device corrects distortions directly in light to enable faster and lower power connections between data centers for large artificial intelligence networks.

New research shows how ultrashort laser pulses can control electrons in a thin material to perform logic operations more than a hundred times faster than today’s electronics.

Scientists built an AI-powered spectrometer smaller than a grain of sand, replacing bulky optical hardware with neural networks to analyze light and chemical signatures on a tiny silicon chip.
